Use this article to add a single value to a field across all imported records, or to clear a field's existing value entirely, using the Bulk Update tab.
After you select your CSV and map your fields, the Magical Import module's Data Operations section lets you update existing CRM records with field values that aren't in the CSV. This helps maintain consistency and enrich your CRM with accurate data during import.
This article covers the Bulk Update tab, which lets you add a single value to a field across every imported record or clear a field's existing value entirely. For details on associating and linking while importing, see Associating or Linking Records During Import.
Bulk Updating or Clearing Fields
On the Bulk Update tab, you can modify a value in your CRM fields even if that field isn't present in your CSV. This value is applied to every record included in the import.
- Click the Data Operations heading to expand the section.
- Select a field from the Field Name dropdown. Field Meta is informational only and shows the field's type (such as Picklist or String) — it isn't an editable setting.
-
Enter the New Value to write in all records from the CSV list.

One field is configured: Field Name is set to "Lifecycle Stage," and New Value is set to "Lead." Field Meta, an informational label showing the field's type, reads "Picklist." A trash icon appears next to the New Value field, and an Add Field button appears below.
-
Leave the New Value field blank to erase any existing value in the CRM record for that field.
