Configure How Your Data Is Used with Insycle’s AI Features

Insycle leverages AI technology from leading providers like OpenAI and Anthropic to enhance your user experience and provide intelligent guidance throughout the platform. To ensure your data privacy and security, Insycle has comprehensive controls that let you decide exactly what information can be shared with these AI Service Providers.

How It Works

Three Levels of Data Access

Understanding that different organizations have varying data privacy requirements, Insycle provides three distinct levels of data access that you can configure independently for each object type in your CRM:

  • Meta: Shares only structural information like field names, labels, and data types—no actual record values are included.
  • Non-PII: Shares values from fields that are not tagged as PII. You must configure which fields are PII in Settings > Fields.
  • Data: Shares complete record information, including PII fields.

PII Tagging

The Non-PII data access level excludes fields that you have tagged as PII using Insycle's field-level PII tagging system. Insycle does not classify fields as PII on your behalf. You must configure which fields are PII in Settings > Fields.

Default Settings and Control

By default, all data access options are allowed for all object types, but Owner and Admin users can customize these settings to align with your organization's privacy policies and compliance requirements. No customer data is transmitted to AI Service Providers except in response to a user-initiated AI-assisted action. Owner and Admin users can disable AI features for a database at any time using the toggles in Settings > AI.

Data Use by AI Service Providers

Insycle’s AI Service Providers process the data shared with them solely to enable your use of the AI features. Your data is never used by these providers to train their models.

Manage AI Data Access Settings

Please note: You must have an Admin or Owner user role to manage AI data settings.

  • Navigate to Settings > AI, then select the database.
  • Each object type in your database appears as a block. By default, all options on all object types are enabled. When the toggle is yellow (to the right), that rule is applied.
  • For each object type in your CRM, decide whether the AI Service Providers can access only meta information, only non-PII data, or all data. Click the toggle to disable options you don't want (it turns grey).
  • As you set these options, ask yourself: What kind of data do you agree Insycle can share with these AI companies?

Insycle does not classify fields as PII on your behalf. Before choosing Non-PII, review which fields are tagged as PII in Settings > Fields. Fields that are not tagged as PII are included under Non-PII.
