Deduplication is critical in Intercom to ensure support reps don't step on each other's toes and customers have a great experience. Sometimes you may want to quickly check for duplicates while engaging in conversations to ensure you have the right context without opening Insycle.
Using Insycle's Inbox app, you can check for duplicates directly in Intercom's Inbox.
You can install the Insycle Inbox app directly in Intercom. Once installed, a widget appears in your Intercom inbox so you can quickly check for duplicates in an open conversation. A button will appear in the right menu of support conversations.
Open the conversation, find the "Insycle Data Management" widget on the right-hand side of the screen, and click the "Check Duplicates" button.
Insycle then automatically checks for duplicates, comparing the contact in your open conversation against other contacts in your database.
You'll be notified directly above the button whether or not Insycle found any duplicates. Additionally, you can click through to be directed to the appropriate template in the Merge Duplicates module to identify and merge duplicate Intercom contacts.

Granular Control for Picking Duplicate Records
For situations where there are no common rules you can apply to identify duplicates for all or some of the records, you may need more granular control for picking records to include or exclude from the process.
To do this in bulk, you can create a CSV and use the Magical Import module.
In these cases, you can use CSV files to customize your bulk merging, designate master records, and exclude records from deduplication. Then you can import the CSV from Magical Import and use the Merge Duplicates module for full control over the final merge operation. Learn more about Choosing Which Records to Merge Using a CSV.
To do this one record at a time, you can use Manual mode of the Merge Duplicates module.
In Manual mode, you have complete control over which records are merged together by selecting them from the Record Viewer. Reserve Manual mode for cases that need a careful, controlled process. Learn more about merging duplicates in Manual mode.
